The Norfolk CAMRA Tasting Panel have announced the winners of the first ever Canned Beer of the Year competition, with Ampersand Brew Co. in Diss winning the Gold Medal with Experiments in Evil, a barrel-aged stout released each winter, and described by the judges as ‘Intense and complex, with hints of Tia Maria’.

The Silver Medal went to Duration Brewing at Castle Acre, with Ebb & Flow, an American stout, described as hoppy and resinous with a lighter malt roast.

Ampersand also took the Bronze Medal with Camphillsner, a Pilsner-style lager brewed with English malt, German hops and Czech yeast, and lagered for three weeks.
