There are four CAMRA branches in Norfolk: West Norfolk, East Norfolk and Mid-Anglia, coordinated at county level by Norfolk CAMRA.
The four branches cooperate to produce and distribute Norfolk Nips, the branch magazine of the four branches, and to select the Norfolk Pub of the Year, Cider Pub of the Year, and, since 2024, Club of the Year.
Beer tasting is also organised at county level, with the Norfolk Tasting Panel organising the county Beer of the Year competitions, and creating tasting notes for beers brewed in Norfolk, for use in the Good Beer Guide.
For further details and contacts, see the Norfolk CAMRA website.
Norfolk is part of CAMRA’s East Anglia Region, which also includes Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire*, and is one of 16 regions in the UK. The Regional Leadership Team, led by Regional Director Andrea Briers, coordinate most of the same functions as branches do, including finance, tasting panels, brewery liaison, the Good Beer Guide, and Pub and Cider Pub of the Year competitions. Further details can be found on the region’s website.
*A Regions Review was published in 2023, which proposed (among other things) splitting Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire off into a new East Central Region, with Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, as East Anglia currently has far more branches and covers a larger area then most other regions.
This is currently scheduled to happen in summer 2024.
