The Norfolk Tasting Panel organise the Champion Beer of Norfolk competition, with divisions for Cask, Bottled and Canned Beers of the Year, and are responsible for contributing tasting notes to the CAMRA brewery information system, Pilgrim, for use in the Good Beer Guide.
Cask beers are tasted at regular tastings in pubs, usually in Norwich, throughout the year. Dates are advertised, along with the area the first pub is in, NR1, NR2 or NR3, in the Branch Diary.
If you’d like to join the Tasting Panel, training is available in how to taste beer and score it using the CAMRA Tasting Card – it’s very simple, and no special skills are needed – just the ability to savour a beer or two in good company!
