Cider Pub of the Year

CAMRA run a national Cider and Perry Pub of the Year competition, with the winner announced on October 1st each year, to start Cider and Perry Month. A list of winners can be downloaded here.

Norwich & District Branch have awarded a Branch Cider Pub of the Year since 2011, before which we didn’t really have enough pubs selling real cider.

In 2011 Ben and Becky Ackers arrived at the White Lion, Oak St, and began stocking around 20 real ciders and perries. They won the inaugural award, and the pub has won it every year until 2024, under several different managers, despite several Norwich pubs now stocking a range of ciders and perries. The pub has also won the Norfolk award several times. and the East Anglian Cider Pub of the Year award at least twice.

The Branch winner goes through to the Norfolk Cider Pub of the Year, and further rounds if successful.
