Beer of the Year Competitions

CAMRA organises various Beer of the Year competitions, the most prestigious being the Champion Beer of Britain, announced at the opening session of the Great British Beer Festival, which includes the Champion Winter Beer of Britain, and Champion Bottled Beer of the Year, announced in May or June.

Members can nominate beers for CBOB, which are then judged in regional rounds at beer festivals across the country, with the Champion Winter Beer being selected at GBBF Winter. The regional and Winter winners are then judged at GBBF. The full judging process is described in this document.

The Norfolk Tasting Panel, with the help of the four Norfolk branches, organises the Norfolk Beer of the Year competition, which has three divisions, for cask, bottled and canned beers – more details on the Norfolk Tasting Panel page.
