Norwich & District Branch organise the Norwich Beer Festival and a number of socials, details of which can be found on our Branch Diary and our Facebook page. Most socials are free, open to non-members and don’t require you to book, all unless otherwise stated.
Other CAMRA branches organise over 180 beer festivals across the UK each year. For details, see CAMRA’s Events Page. Publicans can submit their own events, to be included on the page to advertise them to members and the public.
Our First Friday Five has been running for many years, visiting five Norwich pubs on the first Friday of every month – we aim to visit every pub in Norwich at least once every two years, and all Good Beer Guide pubs at least once every year.
We also organise monthly Lunchtime Strolls, again visiting pubs in Norwich, but at a quieter time of the week and at a more leisurely pace, usually giving time to eat at one of the pubs, and occasional Saturday Strolls, visiting a few more pubs.
For Norfolk pubs in the Branch area, we have a monthly Campaign Trip, usually in the evening of the last Friday of each month (except October, when the Norwich Beer Festival is on, and December), and a Lunchtime Campaign Trip, like the Lunchtime Strolls at a quieter time of the week. There are also occasional longer trips on a Saturday.
You will need to book and pay for coach trips, using our online ticket system – a link will be provided in the emails and publicity for each trip.
Each year we arrange extra strolls and coach trips around the City of Ale, we have a Summer Social to a real ale destination outside the Branch area – Cambridge and Chelmsford have been recent destinations.
