8th Norwich Beer Festival, 1985

The 8th Festival ran from Tuesday October 22nd to Saturday 26th in St Andrews Hall, and featured over 100 beers from around the UK but especially from the West Country. Of local interest were two festival brews , Woodfordes with Headcracker VSOP og 1072 and Reepham special ale og 1044. The ‘mega event in the thinking drinker’s year’ expected an attendance of over 10,000 people.

Entertainment was provided all week, including Aylsham and Taverham brass bands, Excelsior Jazz Band and the Oily Rag Band.

The glass used was a crown viking, and apart from the the first festival, is the only other time a dragon has not appeared.
