The 10th Festival, organised by Alan Edwards, ran from 26th October – 31st October, in St Andrew’s Hall. On the Tuesday the 1988 Good Beer Guide was launched by Malcolm Harding and Paul Moorhouse
Admission was free for CAMRA members, varied from 30p to £2.00 for non-members. The souvenir glass was £1. Bateman’s brewed a special ale, Victory Ale, to celebrade the family firm’s successful fight to avoid takeover.
