Initially an A4 magazine, the format changed to 16 pages of A5 in 1995, and by 2002 editor Adrian Hennessy stated in the programme for that year’s Norwich Beer Festival that around 8,500-9,000 copies, each of 20-24 pages, were printed and distributed in the (then) Norwich & Norfolk branch area six times a year. This was reduced to quarterly from 2003.
In 2009 West Norfolk Branch’s magazine Cask Force joined .. forces with Norfolk Nips with the new publication carrying the title of Norfolk Nips & Cask Force.
The 2019 editions of Norfolk Nips were awarded National Magazine of the Year, the first time the magazine had won the title. Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, editor Lucy Cousins was unable to collect the award, as the Members Weekend 2020, due to take place in April of that year, was cancelled.
2019 also saw changes to the look of the magazine, with Cask Force being dropped from the title, and a new, cleaner logo.
The only edition published in 2020 was the Spring edition, in March, immediately prior to the COVID pandemic.as pubs were closed from late March to July, all of November, and from early January 2021.
The magazine returned after the pubs reopened in May 2021, with two editions being published, the second sporting a new-look cover with a larger title.
