The 3rd Festival, organised by Terry Storer, ran from Tuesday 28th October – Saturday 1st November in St Andrews Hall, had over 70 beers from some 40 breweries on offer. A new brew from Ray Ashworth was launched called Wherry Bitter (whatever happened to that)! The festival was opened by the then CAMRA National Chairman, Joe Godwin.
Food was available and entertainment was provided in the form of jazz and brass bands, games included yard-of-ale and darts competitions. A creche was provided until 8pm.
Entry was 50p including souvenir glass and was open pub hours except Saturday 10.30am to 5pm.
