Interesting non-CAMRA links

The following is a list of websites, blogs etc which may be of interest to CAMRA members and others – if you think there’s anything missing please contact us and let us know.

City of Ale is a (now) month-long celebration of the pubs of Norwich, with a launch party and events, plus a number of ale trails. The event started in 2011 as a 10-day event, and has been supported by Norwich & District CAMRA ever since.

Not to be confused with the also-excellent St Albans version, around CAMRA ‘s National Conference in April 2026.

SIBA is the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates, representing independent breweries and running the Indie Beer campaign.

Beers scored or spotted on the CAMRA Pubs website carry the Indie logo if they’re from indie breweries.

The Pubs Advisory Service provides advice and guidance to pubs on tax, the law and regulations.

Pete Brown is a member of Norwich & District branch since moving to Norwich a few years ago from London, partly because of the pub scene in the city! He is also more well known as a writer, broadcaster and consultant specialising in food and drink, especially beer.

Julian White is a local blogger writing about, as his site says, ‘Walking. Gossip. Travel.’, but also visits to a variety of Norfolk pubs, sometimes with accomplice Julian Swainson as The Two Julians.

The Norfolk Pubs website has a wealth of information about current and, most importantly, former pubs, including comprehensive lists of premises licensees going back to the 1800s, and snippets of ancient press reports on convictions and property transfers.
