Get involved!

If you’d like to get involved with the Branch, we’re always looking for volunteers and help in all sorts of areas, to suit whatever level of commitment and availability you have – and you don’t necessarily even need to leave home!

If you’re interested in helping with anything listed below please get in touch with the contact listed, or just email contact@norwich.camra.org.uk – we’d be delighted to hear from you!

Of course the easiest way to get involved, and support pubs and breweries at the same time, is to join us on one of our socials – just check out the branch diary here.

Our annual Pub Survey, where we visit every pub in the Branch area on one day, usually in June or July, is another great opportunity to meet people and get involved – look out for details in our regular mailings and on this page.

This website takes a lot of effort to maintain and keep up to date, and we’d appreciate help checking it regularly, and suggesting or making updates and corrections, or adding pub trails or posts of interesting industry news. Contact websiteeditor@norwich.camra.org.uk if you’d like to help.

If you like to get out and about, we always need better photos of pubs for the CAMRA website – check out our list here of pubs which need photos – and updates of pub information – just check the pub’s entry on the CAMRA website, and if there’s anything wrong or missing, use the Submit an Edit button to let us know.

With over 40 breweries in the county, we’re often looking for people to liaise with them and keep CAMRA’s brewery information up to date – if you’d like to help with this, please contact our Breweries Coordinator.

Every October we hold the Norwich Beer Festival – this involves a lot of volunteers before, during and after the event itself, and months of planning, including talking to sponsors, ordering beer, creating content for the programme and managing ticket sales. If you’d like to help in any way, please see the dates of planning meetings in the branch diary, and come along to a meeting.

The Branch Committee are responsible for running all aspects of the branch, so becoming a full member can involve commitment, but we’re always happy for people to get involved alongside current members, as there are always things we can’t do because we don’t have the time, for example improving comms with members and pubs by increasing the number of emails we send, better promoting beer scoring, to ensure the beer quality assessments on the website are as fair as possible, or creating pub trails for the website. Contact chair@norwich.camra.org.uk if you might be interested in those or anything else!
